Day 6, Deadwood SD

Alright, no one can say I'm not brave! We started out day 6 with a drive on Wildlife Loop Rd inside Custer State Park in SD. These guys are just awesome. The are also very scary to drive by when you're not in a car!

Dave's friends here are not quite so scary. They were looking for a handout and when they figured we had nothin, they went about their business of muling.

Notice the one behind my right shoulder, she was just having a roll in the dirt.

This is the herd they will round up on Monday.

I am going to make some awesome prints from these to hang in the basement!

Notice the rock. From here, we are very close once again to Mt Rushmore.

Nice one lane tunnel.

We are spending the night in Deadwood, SD. When Gen. Custer's men discovered gold in the Black Hills, there was another and the last gold rush in the US. Deadwood sprung up over night in 1876 as the place to go for mining supplies and some R&R.

Over a poker hand, Wild Bill Hicock was shot dead, holding a pair of aces and 8s, otherwise known as the dead man's hand.

Re-enactment on the sidewalk of a shooting, show starts at 7pm!

Good night all, off in the morning to Montana and the Battle of Little Bighorn!
